DDS Launches Sierra Leone Macrofiscal Monitoring Dashboard and Opens Engagement with Ministry of Finance
Project Overview
Development Decision Support Limited (DDS) has launched the Sierra Leone Macrofiscal Monitoring Dashboard, a browser-based analytical and policy communication tool designed to support real-time monitoring of macroeconomic, fiscal, monetary, welfare, and oil-price indicators in Sierra Leone.
The dashboard was developed by DDS’s Technical Team to help strengthen evidence-based policy analysis and decision-making, particularly in periods of economic uncertainty and external shocks. It brings together key macrofiscal indicators into a single interactive platform, allowing users to track economic trends, assess fiscal and welfare risks, compare policy scenarios, and generate timely analytical reports for senior decision-makers.
The tool is designed to support continuous monitoring of key indicators such as inflation, oil prices, gross international reserves, exchange rate movements, fiscal performance, monetary policy conditions, poverty, food security, and social protection risks. It also includes scenario analysis, a risk register, a monthly data tracker, and a policy report generator that can support faster and more consistent policy briefings.
DDS has now opened discussions with the Ministry of Finance on how the Government of Sierra Leone can benefit from the dashboard as a practical tool for macrofiscal surveillance, crisis monitoring, fiscal risk analysis, and evidence-based policy communication. These engagements are focused on exploring how the platform can support the work of the Macrofiscal Division and strengthen the Government’s ability to respond quickly to emerging economic risks.
The launch of the dashboard reflects DDS’s commitment to building locally developed, data-driven tools that respond to Sierra Leone’s policy needs. By combining applied research, data analytics, and technology, DDS aims to support public institutions with practical solutions that improve decision-making, strengthen fiscal management, and promote sustainable development.
As discussions with the Ministry of Finance continue, DDS remains committed to working with government and development partners to ensure that innovative analytical tools are translated into real policy value for Sierra Leone.
