Invest Salone
Project Overview
This project focused on addressing the critical barriers to women’s access to finance in Sierra Leone, which is essential for economic empowerment and sustainable development. Our research involved a comprehensive desk review to identify the enablers and blockers of women’s financial inclusion. We mapped existing financial products and services to uncover gaps and opportunities and developed strategic recommendations to widen and deepen women's financial access, particularly in the agricultural sector. Key findings highlighted the lack of gender-specific financial products, geographic disparities in financial services, and limited fintech solutions targeting women. Our recommendations emphasized tailored financial products, leveraging technology, enhancing financial literacy, fostering partnerships, and advocating for supportive policies to create a more inclusive financial landscape.
